Darren Bent has suggested to Sky Sports News (06/10/20 at 8:25 am) that the ‘absolutely superb’ Heung-Min Son is seemingly becoming a forgotten man at Tottenham.

With the arrival of Gareth Bale, former Spurs man Bent thinks that Son has had to remind people to ‘not forget about me’ because most of the talk has been around the Welshman’s return.

Bale is yet to make his second debut in a Tottenham shirt because he is still trying to come back to full fitness, but without him, both Son and Harry Kane are ripping opposition defences to shreds.

Watching from afar, Bent has been seriously impressed with what Son has been delivering, as he stated that when Bale joins the mix then it will make Tottenham’s front three ‘scary’.

“Son has been absolutely superb,” Bent told Sky Sports. “I think he has had to not remind people, but go listen ‘I know Gareth Bale is coming in and he’s a world-class player but don’t forget about me. I am a good player as well’.

“Harry Kane, so unselfish. He is willing to sacrifice his goals to set up his teammates. When you have Bale one side and Son the other then that is a scary front three.”

Spurs put five past Southampton and six past Manchester United in recent weeks, and all without Bale, so it begs the question what damage they will cause with him in the starting XI.

It will be interesting to see what type of role Bale plays in Jose Mourinho’s team because the previously goal-mad Kane has stated to channel his inner Kevin de Bruyne in recent weeks.

Bale will be looking forward to being on the end of Kane’s first-time ball or ball over the top because Son has been lapping them up and eating them for breakfast.
