Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah scored both the goals for Liverpool, and both came in the first half.
England international striker Harry Kane pulled one back for Tottenham in the 70th minute.
Liverpool were the better team in the first half and went 2-0 up, but Tottenham stepped up their game after the break.
Tottenham were taking the game to Liverpool, and in the 54th minute, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson tried to calm everything down by taking too much time on the ball.
That allowed Kane to close down, and the England international almost got the ball.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was following the match for Sky Sports, and he was shocked at the £190,000-a-week (SalarySport) Brazil international goalkeeper’s action.
