Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after some comments from Roberto Martinez emerged, hinting that Albert Sambi Lokonga is carrying a knock.

The midfielder has been one of the Gunners’ better performers this season, but it sounds as though he’s struggling a little bit with his fitness right now.

“Regarding Sambi, it is not a sporting choice. There was a small warning, I would not speak of injury, but of discomfort, in training. So we decided not to take any risk given the complicated conditions,” Martinez said.

As you can imagine, these comments weren’t very well received by Arsenal fans.

If Lokonga is indeed injured, this has come at the worst possible time for the London club, the Gunners are already without Mohamed Elneny due to injury and Granit Xhaka due to suspension, and while Thomas Partey is eligible for selection, he won’t be 100 per cent match fit after missing the first few games of the season.

Mikel Arteta may have to field something of a makeshift midfield against Norwich, and Arsenal fans aren’t best pleased with this update about Lokonga.
