Tottenham Hotspur’s boss Jose Mourinho has jokingly warned Pierre Emile Hojbjerg not to try so many tricks again in Football London.
Hojbjerg showed a moment of brilliance for Tottenham against LASK last night, as he pirouetted around two players deep inside his own half.
The defensive midfielder is not typically associated with being the type of player to try dazzling skills.
And Mourinho admits that his Tottenham teammates were poking fun at him during the half-time break.
“We were having a laugh at half-time and we were all calling him Zidane. Very nice but don’t do it again Pierre,” Mourinho shared.
“He’s a very good player, a good leader and a captain without the armband.”

Thankfully for Hojbjerg he pulled off the moment of trickery last night, but against more dangerous opposition it is understandable why Mourinho is seemingly keen for his defensive midfielder to take fewer risks.
Hojbjerg actually put in an excellent display for Tottenham last night though, as he continues to go from strength to strength following his summer move from Southampton.
The powerful Danish midfielder has already made himself a key part of Mourinho’s plans, and he seems to be getting better by the game at the minute.
Hojbjerg is likely to be key for Tottenham in their next game against Burnley on Monday night, as they will need all his physicality in midfield against a side who will test them aerially.
