Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want Juan Fernando Quintero.
River Plate president Rodolfo D’Onofrio has told The Daily Mail that Juan Fernando Quintero will cost €25 million (£22.08m) amid speculation that Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Real Madrid want him.
Quintero enjoyed a very successful World Cup with Colombia, and the 25-year-old attacking midfielder is reportedly on the radar of Tottenham, Wolves and Madrid.
According The Mirror, Spurs, Wolves and Madrid all are interested in signing Quintero in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder joined River on a year-long loan deal from Porto in the January transfer window, and the Argentine club’s president has suggested that he will take up the option to sign him on a permanent contract before selling him this summer.
D’Onofrio told The Daily Mail: “I know of offers for Quintero. He is happy to be in River. If someone wants to take him, they will have to pay €25 million. Let’s not take it out of context; the boy says he’s okay here.”
Music to Daniel Levy’s ears
D’Onofrio’s comments will be music to the ears of Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
With the River president making it clear what his price is, Levy will find it easy to negotiate.
Moreover, a transfer fee of £22m is cheap enough for an established international midfielder in this day and age, and Levy likes a good bargain signing.
Tottenham have a settled starting lineup, but the North London outfit do need back-up in the midfield department if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
If Spurs are able to secure the services of Quintero for £22m, then it will be business well done for the North London outfit.
