Tottenham lost their Champions League semi-final first leg against Ajax.
Donny van de Beek scored after just 15 minutes, with his goal enough to secure a 1-0 victory.
Spurs rallied enough to ensure the match only finished 1-0, but could not do enough to score themselvres.
Goalscorer Van de Beek knows the job is only half done.
He told BT Sport he was impressed with how Spurs bounced back and gave his side problems.
He said: “The first 30 minutes we played really good. After that, Tottenham changed something tactical and we had problems. 1-0 is OK and next week we have to finish it.
“The beginning was good, but after that we played not what we can. We have to make a good plan for next week.
“We have to stay calm. I don’t know what they will do in the next game. We can do better and we have to watch for next week.”
The difference for Spurs was bringing on Moussa Sissoko as part of a tactical reshuffle after Jan Vertonghen’s injury.
His impact was immediately apparent and Spurs fought back, although they were lucky that David Neres’ shot rebouned off the post, rather than into the goal.
Van de Beek knows Ajax are not through yet, and crucially, Spurs will believe they can fight back too.
