Celtic qualified for the Europa League on Tuesday night despite suffering a loss to Anderlecht.

Brendan Rodgers’ side went into the game needing to avoid a defeat of less than three goals if they were to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League after Christmas against the Belgian champions.

Jozo Simunovic’s own goal in the second half succumbed the Hoops to a 1-0 loss in what was a disappointing display from Rodgers’ men, but it was still enough to send the Hoops into the last 32 of the Europa League.
Responding to a video of Celtic’s version of “You’ll never walk alone” on Twitter, former Hoops ace Donnelly replied with one word; “goosebumps” as the Hoops become renowned once again in Europe for their overwhelming support.
Celtic suffered five losses in six games in Group B of the Champions League as they came up against Anderlecht, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. However, their 3-0 win over Anderlecht in Belgium was enough to see them qualify.
Focus returns to the Scottish Premiership as they travel to Easter Road on Sunday to face former Hoops captain Neil Lennon and his Hibernian side, as Rodgers looks to avoid defeat and continue his side’s unbeaten run of 67 games.
