Speaking on US TV station ESPN, Craig Burley has been speaking about Leeds United and how they set up under Marcelo Bielsa.
Leeds were brilliant last season, but this time around they’ve seemingly been figured out.
Indeed, the Whites are having a torrid time right now. They’ve conceded 11 goals in their last two games and they’ve won just three league matches all season.
Burley says that Leeds are more open than any team he’s seen in donkey’s years.
What’s been said about Leeds?
Burley gave his view on the Whites’ recent poor form.
“I’m sure Leeds fans aren’t enjoying it at the moment. They’ve had injuries this season, a massive one to Kalvin Phillips and he’ll be out for weeks and weeks. They have a lot of kids in the team, but there has to be more than one way to skin a cat. They need a plan B and a plan C. I’ve not seen a team as open as this in donkey’s years. Every time they lose the ball they’re wide open, he continues to play man to man. Ask Leeds fans if this is attractive football, he was the king of the town at one point, but at the moment he’s having a hard time,” Burley said.

Need to adjust
As fun as it can be to watch Marcelo Bielsa’s gung-ho all guns blazing style, he needs to adjust to the realities of his side’s situation in the Premier League.
Make no mistake about it, Leeds are in a relegation battle, and after shipping 11 goals in two matches, it’s fair to say they could do with being a bit more pragmatic.
Bielsa’s system can work brilliantly, but when half of his squad are out injured and he’s coming up against some of the best coaches in the world on a weekly basis, he needs to adjust his style.
