David Luiz’s move to Paris Saint-Germain has now been confirmed by both clubs.
Yesterday it was a player coming in, today a player going out – after Chelsea confirmed that David Luiz is to become a Paris Saint-Germain player next season.
This is of course not breaking news – it has long been known that the two clubs had come to an agreement over the future of the Brazilian. However, after the signature of Cesc Fabregas yesterday – Chelsea announced the David Luiz deal on their official Twitter account earlier today – thanking him for his work at the club.
PSG have anniunced the news on their official website – as they look set to pair him with his Brazilian international team-mate Thiago Silva at the Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the transfer of Brazilian international David Luiz from Chelsea FC, for the next five years.
Luiz, like Fabregas has signed a five-year-deal and while no fee has been officially announced it is believed he has cost the club around £50 million – making him the most expensive defender f all time.
