Steve Nicol has strongly criticised reported Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele on ESPN.
The Liverpool legend has said that Barcelona should not hand Dembele a new contract.
The ESPN pundit believes that Dembele, linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer of 2022, has not done anything of note at Barcelona.
Nicol has added that he does not think that the 24-year-old France international forward is a great professional and cares.
Dembele is on the radar of Liverpool, according to TEAMtalk.
The publication reported in October that Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has told his bosses to sign the Frenchman on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

Nicol said: “On his day? Which days are we talking about here? I can’t remember a day. This is a bust.”
The Liverpool legend added: “In my opinion, he has done absolutely nothing since he went to Barcelona.
“So why would you give this guy a contract worth millions when you could give it to somebody else who looks as though they might be better a professional and actually cares.
“Because the impression I get is that he is not a great professional and he doesn’t really seem to look as though he cares.”

Harsh
In our view, it is really harsh of Nicol to slam Dembele the way he has done.
The 24-year-old has had massive injury problems and has not really got a tun of games for Barcelona.
The France international is a very talented and promising player.
If that was not the case, then Barcelona would not have signed him.
If Dembele can get over his injury problems, then he could be a very good signing for Liverpool.
Especially on a free transfer.
