Doncaster Rovers’ capture of Kazaiah Sterling on loan from Tottenham Hotspur has angered some of the League One club’s fans, albeit not necessarily due to the player himself.
Sterling has signed a season-long deal with Rovers, having spent the second half of last season at Sunderland.
The 20-year-old excelled in Tottenham’s youth teams and was crowned the Premier League 2 player of the month for January.
But he struggled for opportunities at Sunderland and thus failed to live up to his promising reputation.
And with Doncaster having recently lost last season’s top scorer John Marquis to Portsmouth for £2 million, questions are being raised about the whereabouts of that money.
