Bryson DeChambeau is one of the best golfers in the world and while some may not like to admit it, President Donald Trump is pretty good himself with a club in his hands.
DeChambeau is very close with Trump, and back in the summer, the President named the LIV Golf star as the chair of the Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition.
Just last week, the two-time US Open champion spoke very highly of Trump, describing him as a ‘great golfer and an even better human being’.
DeChambeau also insisted that the American people are ‘so lucky to have him as the President of the United States’.
The 79-year-old is a very accomplished golfer and claimed he has won 38 Club Championships. Make of that what you will.
However, Jack Nicklaus did describe Trump as the best golfer out of all the US Presidents he has ever played with.
“Well, the ones I’ve played with, actually Trump is probably the best player,” Nicklaus said. “Trump plays pretty well. He plays a little bit like I do. He doesn’t really ever finish many holes. But he can hit the ball, and he goes out and plays and just enjoys it. But he’s won several club championships. He can play.”
Perhaps there is some truth to his Club Championship wins claim!
Donald Trump’s one golfing skill that Bryson DeChambeau wishes he had
DeChambeau has played with President Trump plenty of times over the past few years.

Back in 2024, DeChambeau was extremely complimentary of Trump’s golf game, even going as far as suggesting that the President has one strength that he is really envious of.
“Man, his iron play was great,“ DeChambeau said after playing a round of golf with the President in 2024.
“I can’t tell you the number of times he stuffed it on the green within 30 feet. His driver swing is the most repeatable thing I have ever seen. I wish mine was that repeatable. Really, I do.“
Trump is clearly a very capable golfer.
The fact that people like DeChambeau and Nicklaus have spoken glowingly about the President’s ability tells us all we need to know.
Trump may well have his doubters, but he clearly has something about him when he gets out on the golf course.
Five lowest handicaps out of all the US Presidents in history
Donald Trump apparently holds the lowest handicap of all the US Presidents in history.
Trump’s handicap is allegedly 2.8 according to the Southern California Golf Association.
Joe Biden is in second place with his handicap of 6.7, although he hasn’t posted a score since 2018.
John F. Kennedy was a seven handicap golfer, while Franklin D. Roosevelt comes in at fourth spot with an estimated index of eight.
Fifth place goes to George H. W. Bush who played off 11.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about all of those handicaps is the fact that US Presidents hardly have any free time.
Golf is an incredibly hard sport to perfect and the fact that four of those mentioned above got down to single-digit handicaps is hard to believe.
