Everyone knows about President Donald Trump’s love affair with golf, and he’s always keen to tell the world just how good he is.

This even became a talking point in a 2024 election debate between Trump and Joe Biden, as the pair argued about who would beat the other in a round.

Trump claims to have shot numerous scores in the 60s during his golfing life, but we’ll let you decide the legitimacy of that, after his caddie was spotted dropping a ball for him during a recent round at Trump Turnberry.

We’ve seen the President play alongside Bryson DeChambeau on his YouTube channel, and he did record a solo eagle in that two-man scramble, but just how good at golf is Trump? He recently told reporters what he thinks his handicap currently is.

What Donald Trump says his golf handicap is

In mid-2024, Trump’s handicap was revealed to be -2.5 after he played a round at Winged Foot. But according to the man himself, he’s better than that.

Taking questions from reporters on Thanksgiving, he said, “I’ve won 38 club championships, and I don’t get to practice. So I’m a very low handicap, and I’ve won 38…everyone legitimately. So I guess I got to be around scratch or better. I beat a plus three.”

Modest as ever, but those club championships do have to be called into question after what we saw from Trump’s caddie at Trump Turnberry.

But we have seen enough from Trump’s golf game for this to be somewhat believable!

Donald Trump’s granddaughter says if he is good at golf

Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, is someone with proven golfing prowess. She recently made her LPGA debut at the ANNIKA, and after a difficult opening round where Trump shot an 83, she responded with a 75 on day two to show she can compete at that level.

The 18-year-old is currently playing college golf in Miami and has built a huge social media following on her journey to the pros.

At the ANNIKA, she was asked if she had beaten her grandfather, and responded, “I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I don’t know. We play a lot. We have a great time out there. We’re always on the same team as well.”

She weighed in on President Trump’s golf game: “He’s pretty good. He’s pretty good. We have some tight matches. Yeah, can’t say much. Yeah, we have some tight matches.”

But no matter what she says about his game, no one thinks he’s a better golfer than the president himself!
