Don Hutchison has admitted that he’d love to see Christopher Nkunku at Liverpool, despite the fact he seems bound for Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with signing the 24-year-old French hitman in recent months.

However, in October it was reported [Guardian] that Chelsea had pipped Liverpool to the Red Bull Leipzig marksman, paying more than his £52 million release clause to nab him.

But Hutchison has admitted that he’s a massive fan of the striker, who has 17 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.

The former Liverpool player was asked who he would rather sign between Cody Gakpo and Xavi Simons for the Reds, and here’s how he responded on Twitter:

Surely the Reds supporters would absolutely love someone like Nkunku but, as mentioned, a transfer to Chelsea does seem relatively close, if it isn’t done already that is.

Then again, who cares.

Liverpool splurged £85 million on Darwin Nunez earlier this year and he’s beginning to warm up in a big way now in England.

Today, the Uruguay international scored twice as Klopp’s side beat Southampton 3-1 at Anfield.

Slowly but surely, Nunez is getting better all the time and if he continues to improve then, well, someone like Nkunku wouldn’t get in the side.

It’s that simple.
