The new Premier League season is less than a month away as Manchester United and Liverpool will meet in October for their first clash of the 2019/20 campaign.

BBC Sport pundit Don Hutchison has urged Manchester United to follow in the footsteps of Liverpool and sell one of their star players in order to improve key areas of their squad.
In 2018, Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for a staggering £142 million [BBC Sport], as his sale helped bring in Virgil van Dijk and later on Alisson Becker. 18 months later and both are playing pivotal roles in Jurgen Klopp guiding the club to their sixth European crown.
Manchester United could potentially do the same with the much-talked-about Paul Pogba, who would no doubt fetch a big sum if here were to be sold, just like Coutinho did over a year ago.
Speaking to the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live, former Premier League midfielder Hutchison thinks United should sell Pogba in order to bring in players such as Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire.
“You think about Coutinho moving on [from Liverpool] and how Liverpool did in getting Alisson and Van Dijk,” Hutchinson told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“You could ask the question if you move Pogba on, yes you are leaving a hole in midfield, but you might be getting Alderweireld and Harry Maguire for under £100 million.”

If United were to sell Pogba this summer then in effect they would be able to go out and bulk up key areas of the squad.
Whether or not that would have the same effect as Liverpool have had remains to be seen, but given their current situation, something needs to be done about United’s struggling squad.
At this moment in time, they have purchased two players in Swansea winger Daniel James, whilst Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also added much-needed quality at the back.
