Liverpool would significantly strengthen their hand with a move for the French international.

Former Liverpool player Don Hutchison has taken to Twitter to urge the Reds to pull out all the stops in pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The 26-year-old was expected to complete a move to Atletico Madrid this summer, but with the La Liga club seeing their transfer ban upheld, the future is not quite so clear for the prolific front man.

“Would love to see Stevie G and Liverpool’s chief exec get on a plane and go see Lacazette’s agent,” Hutchison wrote. “Get it done.”
There is no doubt Liverpool need additional fire-power next season as they bid to compete both domestically and in Europe and Lacazette’s record in France suggests he could take Anfield by storm.

The Reds have been over-reliant on their attacking midfielders for goals this season, with Divock Origi struggling to perform on a consistent basis and questions remaining over the fitness of Daniel Sturridge despite his effectiveness when he is given a chance.
Lacazette is sure to have plenty of additional suitors this summer, both in the Premier League and further afield, and while he may have had his heart set on a move to Atletico, if Liverpool can convince him to switch to Anfield they could have a new goal-scoring hero on their hands; one that can fire them to some silverware in 2018 and beyond.
