Don Hutchison has reacted to the news that Tottenham are set to sign Richarlison by suggesting Everton need to rid themselves of eight players – and should sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, and Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday morning that 25-year-old Richarlison is a ‘done deal’. The first part of paperworks are done with Everton on a deal that will cost Spurs an initial £50million, plus add-ons.

Everton had to cash in on the ex-Watford striker Richarlison in order to ease concerns regarding Financial Fairplay. A deal could now be public as early as Thursday afternoon, or on Friday.
Ex-Everton midfielder Hutchison has responded to the news. He thinks Frank Lampard needs to offload eight players, demanding a “proper clear out”. He suggested two signings, in Villa’s Watkins and Chelsea’s Gallagher.
Hutchison: Everton should sign Watkins and Gallagher
Cashing in on Richarlison is a necessity for Everton, and a superb signing for Tottenham. But for Everton, it leaves a gaping hole in attack. Richarlison had a hand in 15 of Everton’s 43 Premier League goals last season.
The Toffees have just sold a player who was involved in more than a third of last season’s league goals. So, they need an attacker and Hutchison believes a midfielder too. England stars Watkins and Gallagher are his suggestions.
Lampard might use his connections at Chelsea to land £50million-rated Gallagher, with another loan potentially in the offing. Watkins will not leave Villa unless a hefty permanent fee is on the table.
