Everton have stolen the show so far in this summer’s transfer window and a former player says it could get even better.

The Toffees have brought in a plethora of talent so far this summer with Wayne Rooney adding to the arrival of Michael Keane, Henry Onyekuru, Davy Klassen, Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez and Josh Bowler.

Ronald Koeman is also being linked with moves for Olivier Giroud, Marko Arnautovic and Gylfi Sigurdsson amongst others as the Goodison Park outfit show their hand in a bid to challenge the Premier League elite.

With Romelu Lukaku completing a mega money move to Manchester United, Everton will undoubtedly refocus their efforts on recruiting a replacement striker to play alongside the returning Rooney.

And former Toffees midfielder Don Hutchinson, who covers a lot of European football as a pundit, has endorsed a move for Roma’s record breaking striker Edin Dzeko, formerly of Manchester City.

“Dzeko was brill last season for Roma,” Hutchinson said on Twitter when a fan suggested the Bosnian international would be a better bet than Giroud.

While City have moved on since Dzeko left for Italy, there is a case to say they let him go too soon.

The 31-year-old was first loaned and then sold to Serie A side Roma last summer and showed City perhaps made a mistake letting him go by setting a new record haul of goals for the Italian giants.

He ended the season with a superb 39 goals in 51 games breaking a record that has stood since the 1934/35 campaign.

Dzeko is a proven Premier League goalscorer too having notched 50 goals in 130 games for City before being shipped out.

With those kind of statistics it is difficult it is easy to see why Hutchinson is keen to see him on Merseyside.
