Don Goodman has told Sky Sports’ EFL Weekly Podcast that Leeds United’s resilience has impressed him the most.

After a slow start to the Championship season, Leeds are now one of the division’s form sides having won seven of their last 10 league fixtures.

Saturday’s 3-2 win at promotion-chasing Norwich, a game in which Leeds fought back from a goal down to win in stoppage time, was perhaps the pick of the bunch and saw Garry Monk’s men climb into a play-off place for the first time this term.

And Goodman, who was born in Leeds and played for a number of Football League sides including West Brom and Wolves, is liking what he is seeing from his town’s team.

“The run that they’re on at the moment is phenomenal,” he said. “What impresses me most is the resilience they’re having to show.

“They are having to dig very very deep to win these games, games in which they would have perhaps come out on the losing side over the last couple of seasons, they are now winning.

“There have been some good wins and some good scalps and everything looks really good for Leeds United at the moment, and they’ll hope they can maintain that momentum.”

The good news could be about to continue for Leeds, amid reports their controversial owner Massimo Cellino is close to selling his stake to fellow Italian Andrea Radrizzani.

In two and a half years at Elland Road, Cellino has sacked six managers, while Leeds are yet to finish in the division’s top half during his tenure.
