Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Joao Moutinho from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
Wolves signed Moutinho from AS Monaco this summer for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £5 million.
The 31-year-old is one of the best midfielders in Europe and has arrived at the Wanderers with a strong reputation.
The midfielder is a serial winner, having won the Primeira Liga thrice and the Europa League once with FC Porto thrice, the Ligue 1 title with AS Monaco in 2016-17, and the European Championship with Portugal in 2016.
Former Wolves striker Goodman has been impressed with Nuno’s side securing the services of Moutinho.
Goodman said on Sky Sports News on Thursday evening (7:55pm, August 9, 2018) when asked for his bargain signing of the summer: “To get Joao Moutinho, who has got over 100 caps for Portugal, year in year out played Champions League football, for £5 million, I think that’s a remarkable deal actually and I am pretty sure he will be a good success.”
Debut against Everton
Moutinho made his debut for Wolves on Saturday evening, as the Portugal international featured against Everton at the Molineux Stadium.
The midfielder started the match and played for 85 minutes, as it ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Portuguese played well, looked very good on the ball and also worked hard when he was out of possession.
