Don Goodman labelled Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul ‘stupid’ for being involved in the ‘rubbish’ scenes following his side’s 3-1 win over Leeds [BBC Sport] at the weekend.

At the full-time whistle, Leeds striker Patrick Bamford was seemingly in a heated conversation with a few of the opposition players, when Krul rushed from his goal line to push and then he appeared to aim a headbutt at the Whites player.

There was a lot on the line in terms of the encounter itself, with both teams sitting in the Championship’s automatic places going into the game and Daniel Farke’s men claiming top spot after the match.

Nonetheless, on commentary, former Wolves striker Goodman was riled up by the incident as he didn’t hold back in criticising Krul for his actions.

“Well, certainly something happened at the end of the game,” Goodman stated during commentary on Sky Sports Football on 02/02/2019.

“There is just no need. That is stupid from a very experienced player. Don’t get involved, you have just come to Elland Road and played brilliantly. You just don’t need to get involved in that rubbish.”

There is no doubt that Norwich were the best team on the night as they implemented a high-pressing and high-energy game which proved to be too good for their promotion rivals.

Despite that defeat, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are still level on points with the Canaries, who are ahead of them on goal difference.

Ahead of next weekend’s fixtures, Leeds could potentially lose second spot because third-placed Sheffield United, who are three points behind them, travel to Aston Villa on Friday night with a win ensuring they leapfrog their neighbours in the table.
