Don Goodman has questioned West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison’s fitness, during Sky Sports’ live coverage of Darren Moore’s side’s match with Brentford last night.

West Brom drew 1-1 with Brentford yesterday, despite dominating the match for large periods.

The Baggies looked to be on their way to victory, but they were undone in the final minutes, as Lewis Macleod headed in an equaliser.

Morrison failed to cover himself in glory in the way he defended the goal, as he did not get out to shut down the cross very quickly.

And Goodman said: “I’m looking at James Morrison here and he comes wide, he’s so tired.

“[He’s] treading water and that allows Emiliano to the space. Morrison can’t get out to block the cross and it’s desperate.”

Goodman made over 100 appearances for Albion back in his playing days, before taking to commentary.

West Brom’s failure to win last night means that they have now slipped some way behind the front two.

Moore’s side are now four points behind Leeds United in the Championship table, and they have lost their game in hand.

West Brom are next in action on Friday evening, when they take on fellow promotion hopefuls Aston Villa.
