The Newcastle United striker is currently out on loan at Barnsley.
Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong in action
Don Goodman has told the Chronicle that it will not be long before Adam Armstrong is in the Newcastle United first team.
The youngster once again finds himself out on loan from St James Park, this time at Championship side Barnsley.
He has continued to impress, with two goals in the league to his name so far, one of which was a super strike against Preston North End.
That goal was recently named as the division’s goal of the month for September, fighting off fierce competition to do so.
Coventry’s Adam Armstrong shoot at goal
One of the judges on the selecting panel was Don Goodman and he has backed Armstrong to be in Newcastle’s first team before too long if he keeps up his current form.
“It was a goal borne from the confidence he’s taken from his superb goal-scoring loan spell at Coventry City, where he showed what an instinctive finisher he is,” he told the Chronicle.
“If he continues in this vein, it won’t be long before Rafa Benitez demands his return to Newcastle.’”

It remains to be seen if Armstrong does have a first-team future at Newcastle United.
There is no denying his quality, as he has shown over the last year and a half while out on loan from the club.
He is unlikely to get into the current squad though, with Rafa Benitez well stocked when it comes to forwards at this moment in time.
