Rangers have been attempting to sign Jamie Walker this summer.
Hearts midfielder Don Cowie has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he is surprised that Rangers are the only team making moves to sign winger Jamie Walker this summer.
Walker, 24, has come up through the ranks at Tynecastle, and he has become a key player for the club, racking up over 150 appearances for the club whilst scoring 38 goals.

Last term, the Edinburgh-born winger smashed 15 goals in all competitions, and he is unsurprisingly attracting major interest during this summer’s transfer window.
With just one year left on his contract with Hearts, Walker has suggested that he wants to leave this summer, and won’t sign a new deal with the club.
So far, only one club have been making concrete moves for Walker, with BBC Sport reporting that Rangers have had two bids for the winger rejected, with the latter bid believed to be around £600,000.
However, Hearts allegedly want £1million for Walker, and it remains to be seen whether Rangers attempt to convince Hearts into selling by making another bid closer to that valuation.
Given that Rangers’ last bid came over a month ago, there is every chance that they could even be pipped in the race to sign Walker, and Hearts team-mate Don Cowie has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he can’t believe the Gers are the only team in the race right now.
Cowie suggested that other clubs should be pursuing Walker, as he has ‘real quality’ and ‘something special’ in his locker – but he does still hope that Walker stays at Tynecastle this summer.

“The only thing that surprises me is that there only seems to be one team that wants him,” said Cowie. “On the pitch with him against Newcastle on Friday night – a massive club with players who have a little bit of everything – he proved that he has that X-factor. When you train with him on a daily basis, it’s an eye-opener. You see the end product, the goals, the technique. There aren’t many players like him, especially in Scotland.”
“I’ve told him that. He has real quality – something special – and if he really wants it then anything can happen in his career, whether that is moving to a bigger club or international honours. It’s all there for him. What he needs to do is be consistent and get his head down. He has the quality that can take teams places and, from a selfish point of view, I hope he does it for us, but if someone is willing to pay the money that this club values Jamie at, then so be it – I’ll wish him well,” he added.
