Dominik Szoboszlai has talked up Liverpool on goal.com, just hours after being linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are set to take on Szoboszlai’s Red Bull Salzburg side this evening, and they may well have a close eye on the 18-year-old.

Today’s printed edition of The Sun, page 52, claims that Liverpool are eager to sign Szoboszlai from Salzburg for £15 million.

And the young midfielder has suggested that he can’t wait to take Liverpool on this evening, as he is a huge admirer of the club.

“Jurgen Klopp has opened a new chapter in the club’s history. They are great to watch and I am very much looking forward to facing them at Anfield,” Szoboszlai said.

“It is a historically huge club – their dramatic win versus AC Milan was definitely impressive.

“Their whole squad is great but Firmino is someone special. They are a top team with an unbelievable coach leading them. [The Premier League] is one of the best leagues in the world now, without question.”

Szoboszlai is quickly developing a reputation as one of the finest young midfielders in Europe, so it no surprise that Liverpool are taking an interest.

The Hungarian international has hit three goals in 10 games so far this season, including one in the Champions League.

Liverpool go into tonight’s game as favourites against Salzburg, but the Austrian side are a threat.

Salzburg won 6-2 against Genk in their opening game in the Champions League to really highlight the quality that they have at their disposal.

Liverpool are under significant pressure to get a result tonight, as they were beaten by Napoli in their first Champions League match this season.
