AFC Wimbledon were due to face Leeds United if they could have got past Sutton United in the FA Cup.
Dominic Poleon has tweeted that he is devastated to have missed out on a match against Leeds United, after AFC Wimbledon crashed out of the FA Cup last night.
Wimbledon looked set to be taking on Leeds, who are Poleon’s former club, in the fourth round of the competition, when they took the lead against non-league Sutton United last night.
However, a red-card to defender Paul Robinson turned the match in Sutton United’s favour.
And the Conference outfit managed to stage a comeback in the second half of the contest.
Sutton scored an equaliser in the 75th minute through Rory Deacon, before two injury time goals ensured that they progressed.
And Poleon was clearly gutted by the result, as it denied him the chance to play against his former side.
Poleon represented Leeds’ senior side for three years, between 2012 and 2015, before moving to Oldham Athletic.
Since playing for Wimbledon, Poleon has netted seven goals in 23 appearances.
