Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn has been linked with loan moves away.
Ben Woodburn has made only a handful of appearances for the Liverpool first team, but his undeniable quality and talent has seen him linked with Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers, Sheffield United and Norwich City.
According to The Scottish Mail, Rangers in the Scottish Premiership want to sign the 18-year-old forward on loan in the summer transfer window (click here to read more), while The Liverpool Echo has credited Championship duo United and Norwich with interest in the youngster.
Woodburn is only 18 years of age, but the Liverpool teenager has already played seven times for the Wales national football team.
With competition for places in the Liverpool first team fierce, it will be tough for Woodburn to break into the starting lineup next season at Liverpool, and a loan move this summer would make sense.
Former Liverpool star Dominic Matteo has suggested that Woodburn should look at loan options, and has told LFC TV: “Does he need to go out on loan? I know what it’s like at Liverpool. You feel comfortable at the club.
“But sometimes you have to do something you maybe don’t want to do, to get the experience and come back a better player.”
Moving out on loan
Woodburn – who earns £12,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – is only 18 years of age, and the youngster could still do with another season playing for the Liverpool youth team.
However, if the chance arises for the Liverpool teenager to play for a club in the Championship or in the Premier League on loan for at least the first half of next season, then he should seriously consider it.
