Dominic Matteo has told Leeds United’s Warm Up Show that Rodrigo is getting better and better, and is predicting more to come from the Spain star. Leeds take on Palace on Monday night, in a crucial relegation clash.
Rodrigo, 31, has been superb of late for Leeds – with Jesse Marsch guiding his side to 10 points from their last four games. The American has come in for plaudits, having lost his opening two matches to Leicester and Villa.
In the last four, Rodrigo has netted three times – scoring his side’s second in a 3-0 win over Watford last time out. A brilliant run of form, finally showing Leeds fans why the club splashed a club-record £27million to sign him.
Leeds icon Matteo gave his verdict on Rodrigo and his recent form. Matteo shared how he is delighted to see Rodrigo shining under Marsch – who has given him more of a leadership role. He thinks there is more to come.
“I’m really pleased for Rodrigo. He’s the one player, that always seems to get better as the season goes on. We’re going to see more from him, and he’s chipping in with the goals as well. His goals have been brilliantly taken.”
Matteo on Rodrigo: Can Leeds star guide Whites to win over Palace?
They are more than capable of beating Palace. The Eagles have been excellent this season – but for the feeling that Palace have been good and Leeds have failed, there are only four points between the two clubs.
Palace have lost their last three games – 2-1 to Leicester, 2-0 to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final, and 1-0 to Newcastle – Leeds come into the game in much better form. It will be a close game; Rodrigo could provide the difference.
