According to Sky Sports, the Toffees had to pay the Blades a transfer fee of £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the 19-year-old forward.
The talented and promising teenager has explained his decision to leave United for Everton in the summer.
“It’s an opportunity I couldn’t turn down,” Calvert-Lewin told The Star. “Everton is a great football club as is Sheffield United.
“Maybe I wasn’t that much in favour at United and getting the game time. Maybe sometimes you need a new opportunity. I was at Sheffield United a long time and often a change of scenery can do you good.”
“I’ve settled in well (at Everton), I’m really enjoying it and working with different people,” added the youngster.
“It’s a slightly different style of football and everything is geared towards making me a better player. The same as it was at Bramall Lane.”
United are a big club, but the Blades are playing in League One at the moment.
It is not going to be easy for Calvert-Lewin to break into the Everton first team, though, as there is a fierce competition for places.
If the youngster plays well for the Everton youth teams and continues to progress, then it will not be long before he makes his debut for the senior side.
Everton are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from seven matches.
The Merseyside outfit are four points behind leaders Manchester City, who are favourites to win the league title this season.
