Dominic Ball spent one season at loan at Ibrox, but has struggled since leaving Glasgow Rangers last summer.
Rangers’ Dominic Ball
Dominic Ball has suggested that he wishes he had been able to make a return to Rangers last summer, and insisted that he would not reject the chance to head back to Ibrox in the future, the Daily Record reports.
Ball – who joined the Light Blues on loan in 2015 – was a fairly key member of the Gers squad that won the Scottish Championship title and reached the Scottish Cup final after beating Celtic in the semi-final.
However, while some would have liked to have seen the 21-year-old return ahead of their first campaign back in the Scottish Premiership, Ball instead left Tottenham for Rotherham but was soon loaned out to Peterborough.
But after hinting at how close he came to returning to Ibrox in the summer, he emphatically suggested how he would respond if given the chance to rejoin the Gers.
“I was trying to push into the Spurs first team but by the time I was free Rangers were two games into their season,” he said, as reported by the Record.

“There was a chance but I can understand why it didn’t happen – they’d brought a lot of players in.
“In hindsight, it would have been great to go back there. I’ve always said I love Rangers and everything about that club. I’d never say no to the opportunity to go back there.”
Things have certainly not gone to plan for Ball since he left Tottenham permanently. Alan Stubbs – the manager who signed him for the Millers – was soon sacked and Rotherham have been at the bottom of the Championship for most of the campaign.

Meanwhile, his loan spell with Peterborough was ended early following a disagreement back in March, but his registration with Posh meant that he has been unable to play since returning to the New York Stadium (via BBC Sport).
And when the season actually comes to a close – though it has virtually been over for both Ball and Rotherham for many weeks no – he will surely be wondering what might have been had another deal with Rangers been agreed.
