West Ham United gave Domingos Quina his first start against Arsenal in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Quina was selected to start for West Ham against Arsenal in the League Cup in midweek, and the youngster was settled down by his teammates.
Both Hernandez and Andre Ayew came up to the Portuguese prospect before the match to attempt to relax him.
“Andre [Ayew] and Chicharito said to me ‘We know you have the quality to play here, so go out and enjoy yourself. You’re here for a reason, so be responsible and do what you can’ and I thought I did that,” Quina revealed.

Quina certainly did not look overawed by the occasion, but he was unable to stop West Ham from losing 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
West Ham were undone by a scrappy Danny Welbeck goal, and were unable to show their best during the contest.

The Hammers’ attention will now return to Premier League matters, as they look to build on their current good run of form.
West Ham have taken seven points from the last nine available to them, to move out of the relegation zone.
David Moyes’ next match comes against Newcastle United at the London Stadium tomorrow.
