It looks like the wheels are in motion for Liverpool to extend Fabinho’s contract at Anfield.
The former Monaco player has been a huge asset for Liverpool since arriving in Merseyside in the summer of 2018.
Fabinho has been a revelation in Liverpool’s midfield, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Premier League and Champions League title within 13 months of one another.
And according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League champions are keen to keep the Brazilian – whose existing deal expires in 2023 – for the long term.
Romano claimed on his Here We Go podcast that Fabinho has already held talks with Liverpool’s hierarchy about signing a new deal, having had the chance to leave Anfield for an unnamed Spanish club during the summer.

Fabinho has been injured for a couple of weeks, after going off early in the Champions League win over Midtjylland.
He had been playing central defence for Liverpool since Virgil van Dijk’s injury at Everton and the fact he is so important to Klopp even in an unfamiliar role is testament to his influence in this team.
