According to Sport1, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks to sign Ivan Perisic claiming that the Serie A star could be reunited with Antonio Conte.
Perisic would be a brilliant addition to Spurs’ team, and, of course, he knows Conte well from their time together at Inter Milan.
However, Conte isn’t the only man to have sat in the Spurs dugout who rates Perisic.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho is also a big admirer of the Croatian.
What’s Mourinho said about Perisic?
Mourinho has been full of praise for the winger in the past, particularly after he knocked England out of the World Cup in 2018.
“Perisic is the kind of winger that is different from the others. Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical,” Mourinho said.
“Fantastic in the air. So the way he wins that ball in the air (for the winning goal) and puts the ball into that space is only possible if you are very, very physical and dominant over defenders. So he was amazing by going there and winning that ball in the air.”

One of a kind
Perisic would be a very interesting signing for Spurs, and there really aren’t many players like him.
As Mourinho said back in 2018, Perisic isn’t like most wingers, as well as being quick and tricky, Perisic is brilliant in the air and incredibly strong.
We already know that he can fit perfectly into Antonio Conte’s system. After all, he was great at Inter last season, so this could be a great signing if Spurs pull this one off.
