Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno reportedly wants to bring in the Croatian centre-back at Molineux this summer.

According to a report in Sabah, Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a bid for Domagoj Vida of Besiktas, and he would be an impressive signing for Nuno’s side.

Vida was one of the stars of the World Cup, as he helped Croatia reach the final in Russia.

Vida has been linked with a whole host of Premier League sides this summer, with multiple clubs keen on bringing the no-nonsense defender to England.

Vida could be the final piece of the jigsaw for Wolves, as Nuno wants to improve his side’s defence.

Over pre-season Wolves have looked quietly impressive, as they continue their momentum following a dominant season in the Championship last term.

However, one concern as been Wolves’ centre-back options, as Nuno seems to face a selection dilemma.

Wolves have played Romain Saiss at centre-back in pre-season, but the Moroccan has not looked entirely comfortable.

Ryan Bennett looks his most likely replacement currently, but he has previously struggled at the top level before.

And Vida would be an upgrade on Nuno’s current options to play at centre-half, making him an impressive addition for Wolves, if they can get a deal over the line.
