Speaking to GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Marcelo Bielsa’s future at Leeds United.
As we know, the Argentine has a tendency to only ever sign one-year contracts at Leeds, and with the summer quickly approaching, it’s getting closer to the point where the club have to start thinking about renewing his deal.
Bielsa has rarely been one to stick around at a club for a long time, but it seems as though Leeds are desperate for him to stay beyond this season.
“I am told that they are planning with him, they are doing their best to keep Marcelo Bielsa. He is the manager in the Premier League, and they want to go with him, so they are doing their best to convince Marcelo Bielsa.” Romano said.
The journalist then went on to address rumours linking Max Allegri with the job, before returning to speak about the current gaffer.
“Leeds have an amazing project, but they are happy with Marcelo Bielsa and they are fighting to keep Marcelo Bielsa as the manager, so I think yes, they will get on with him, he is doing an amazing job, they are planning with him, so it is up to Bielsa. We know he is particular as a person, not just as a manager.”

This is a brilliant update to hear if you’re a Leeds fan.
Of course, whether or not Bielsa signs remains to be seen, but it’s not been hard to convince him in the past, and the Whites’ project is only getting more and more exciting.
Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are doing all they can to keep him, and in the past, that’s been enough.
Fingers crossed we have an official announcement about the Leeds manager sooner rather than later.
