Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have been speaking about Rangers boss Steven Gerrard on their Match of the Day Top 10 series.

What’s the story?

Well, Lineker, Shearer and Richards took the time to shower Gerrard in praise, and gave him plenty of credit for his work at Ibrox so far.

Lineker kickstarted the conversation by stating that Gerrard is ‘doing well as a manager’ to which Richards replied ‘doing really well’ – there’s no doubt about that.

Shearer then added: “After what he had to do when he first went in, to where they are now, in terms of winning the league last season and then getting bigger and bigger, he looks as if he’s really enjoying it.”

Lastly, Lineker said the £2.5m-a-year (£48,076-a-week) Rangers man ‘looks like a natural’ in the dugout – we can’t argue with a word they said.

Since stepping into the hotseat at Ibrox, Gerrard has probably even surprised himself at how well he has taken to management.

How long can Rangers keep Steven Gerrard?

Make no mistake about it, Premier League clubs will be looking at what the 41-year-old is doing over in Glasgow.

In fact, some already have.

According to 90min, Tottenham were interested in hiring Gerrard as a replacement for José Mourinho, before they opted for Nuno Espirito Santo.

More recently, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie mentioned the ex-Liverpool captain as someone who could replace Steve Bruce at Newcastle.

It’s no surprise to see Premier League clubs eyeing Gerrard.

Since taking charge of Rangers, the Englishman has won 122 of his 189 games, averaging 2.15 points per game – that is a simply remarkable record.

Incredibly, Gerrard has only lost 27 of those 189 games, as his side have scored 396 goals and conceded just 135 – phenomenal.

Of course, he also managed to bring the Scottish Premiership title back to Ibrox after years of hurt – he is already, unquestionably, a Rangers legend.
