Leeds fans praised Mateusz Klich on Twitter after he helped Poland record a 1-1 draw against Spain at Euro 2020 on Saturday.

The 31-year-old may have only spent 55 minutes on the pitch, but he impressed the Leeds faithful back home.

After losing their Euro 2020 opener, Poland went into their Spain clash needing to avoid defeat, else they would have been heading for an early exit.

But it was a resilient performance from the boys in White, who managed to withstand the slick and one-touch football deployed by Luis Enrique’s men on the night.

A lot of Klich’s work was done without the ball, as forced the opposition into less threatening areas and then, when given the opportunity, made very good use of the ball.

Unfortunately for him, Paulo Sousa subbed him off just before the hour mark because he was on a yellow card, although Leeds fans thought that booking was harsh.

But with Klich’s substitution came a bit of history because Pogoń Szczecin academy star, Kacper Kozłowski, was the player to come on.

And, at the age of 17, he became the youngest player to feature at the Euros, beating the record held by a certain Jude Bellingham only seven days ago.

The teenager didn’t have the aggression or intelligence to his pressing that Klich brought during his time on the pitch.

But he did have that spark and drive to his game, which in the end, wasn’t enough for his team to cause an upset.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Leeds fans reacting to Klich’s performance at Euro 2020 last night:
