Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has praised Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe on Twitter for his performance on Thursday evening.

However, Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes that the winger could have done better in the 4-1 win against Molde at the Emirates Stadium in the Europa League.

Pepe started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and the 25-year-old winger scored in the 69th minute, leaving Bolasie – who joined Everton from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £25 million – impressed.

Keown said on BT Sport 2 (10pm, November 5, 2020): “I think Pepe scored that great goal, but maybe could have perhaps been better in the performance.”

How did Nicolas Pepe play against Molde?

Pepe has not always had the best of times at Arsenal and has not been very consistent, but the winger had a good game overall against Molde.

Although the Ivory Coast international was in and out of the game, he took his goal well, tried to make things happen and looked creative.

According to WhoScored, the former Lille star took four shots of which two were on target and one ended in goal, played four key passes, had a pass accuracy of 83.7%, won one header, took 60 touches, attempted two dribbles, and put in three crosses.

Of course, Pepe can do better, but he will be encouraged by his overall performance and his goal against Molde.
