Neil McCann has praised Antonio Colak for making light work of scoring his second goal as Rangers hosted Dundee United during Saturday afternoon’s Premiership meeting at Ibrox.
Antonio Colak ‘doesn’t mess around’ after Rangers goals vs Dundee United
Antonio Colak was back among the goals as the Rangers forward fired a brace at home to Dundee United. His efforts during the Ibrox affair also caught the eye of former Gers star Neil McCann, who hailed the Croatian ace on BBC Sportsound for making it look ‘simple’.

The three-cap international gave Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad an early advantage on Saturday afternoon with his first effort coming inside just eight minutes. Colak would later stretch the margin and his tally four minutes after the interval, before Liam Smith replied.

James Tavernier was instrumental in Colak breaking the deadlock with the £2m summer signings’ fifth Premiership goal this season. The Gers captain led a super counter-attacking move down the right-hand channel before laying the ball on a plate for Colak to drill home.
Colak would later celebrate his 29th birthday by bagging a brace with a near-post finish for his sixth goal of the season. He comfortably pulled clear of Charlie Mulgrew to meet Borna Barisic’s inviting cross, and left Carljohan Eriksson with no time to react between the sticks.

Colak returned to the Rangers starting line-up against Dundee United after featuring from the bench against Napoli this Wednesday. Failing to find the net in the Champions League tie meant he failed to score in three-straight games for the first time since joining the Gers.
The summer signing from PAOK had been a consistent goal threat since arriving at Ibrox in July. But Colak hit a tricky path over meetings with Celtic in the Premiership and Rangers’ opening Group A affairs against Ajax and Napoli on their return to the UEFA competition.

His second effort against Dundee United showed Colak’s awareness under the shadow of the crossbar, though, and earned the Rangers forward praise from ex-Gers man McCann.
“Colak doesn’t mess around,” McCann said. “He’s always inside the width of the goals. It’s so simple.”
