Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after a seven-second video showing Dwight Gayle and Allan Saint-Maximin in training emerged.
The £16.5 million signing from OGC Nice is standing alone, seemingly waiting to do an interview as his teammates walk past him on his right.
In the footage, Gayle can be heard saying ‘the saviour is back’ in a dry, monotonous and almost sarcastic tone.
In response, Saint-Maximin scoffs, before shaking his head and looking down.
Now, we’re no body language experts, nor do we want to speculate, but this does seem like a very strange exchange.

Perhaps, Gayle is mocking the Frenchman’s ‘saviour’ tag upon his return from injury, as regardless of him being available to play once again, his presence won’t change much in the grand scheme of things.
On the other hand, perhaps the strange exchange means nothing at all.
Whatever the true meaning behind it, the clip has certainly sparked a reaction from the Toon Army on Twitter, who seem very concerned about this footage.

Gayle’s tone is arguably the most concerning aspect.
However, the Magpies are without a win in ten games, so you wouldn’t expect the players to sound especially chirpy around the training ground.
Let’s see what the Newcastle fans on Twitter have been saying…
