Speaking on Vibe With Five, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand have been reacting after Bukayo Saka was left out of EA Sports’ Team of the Tournament.

EA have released their Team of the Tournament on FIFA 23, and two England players made the cut – Phil Foden and Harry Kane.

Ferdinand and Evra were baffled by these choices, stating that Saka should be in the team ahead of Foden based on his performances in Qatar.

Saka over Foden

Evra and Ferdinand reacted after hearing Saka wasn’t in this team.

“Harry Kane and Phil Foden also made the Team of the Tournament on FIFA, any thoughts on that?”

“No, I don’t think that’s right. If Foden is in then Saka should be in before Foden,” Ferdinand said.

“I 100 per cent agree with Rio. This doesn’t even make sense. Why is Foden in the starting XI over Bukayo Saka?” Evra said.

Deserved it

We have to agree with Ferdinand and Evra here, Saka deserved to be in this team above any other England player.

The winger was genuinely the Three Lions’ best player in Qatar, and he deserves credit for his showings.

Why Foden was chosen ahead of him is a mystery. That’s not to say that Foden wasn’t brilliant himself, but Saka was on another level entirely.

England have a superstar here. He’s been brilliant at a Euros and a World Cup now, and he’s only 21.

If England are to win anything in this generation, Saka will surely be key to that.
