Tim Sherwood claimed on Amazon Prime that Marcelo Bielsa ‘doesn’t care’ about clean sheets at Leeds United, with his comments met with laughter by fellow pundits Robbie Savage and Rob Green.
The former Aston Villa manager stated that all Bielsa cares about is outscoring the opposition because he wants to win ‘5-4 or 6-5’.
Well, Leeds did record five goals on Tuesday night, as they smashed West Brom to pieces at the Hawthorns with a comical own goal from Romaine Sawyers starting things off.
But Sherwood, who is known for his outspoken views, made an outlandish claim about Bielsa and how he approaches things.
“One thing is for sure, Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t care one jot about clean sheets,” said Sherwood. “There’s no interest in clean sheets.
“You know a lot of managers would come out, especially English managers and say ‘kept a clean sheet, kept a clean sheet’. He hasn’t got no interest.
“He wants to win 5-4, 6-5. He doesn’t care. As long as his team score more than the opposition that all he worries about.”
Sherwood is then asked whether he used to speak about clean sheets when he was Villa manager to which he responded: “No, didn’t get one.”

It’s obvious that Bielsa is a highly-demanding coach, who likes to have his foot on the accelerator regardless of the situation.
But that doesn’t mean that clean sheets aren’t a priority for him because even a man of his experience will know how valuable they can be even to a free-scoring side.
The key thing for Leeds is that they have kept enough of them this season, including a couple of days ago, to showcase that they can match the quality in the attacking third to the one in the defensive third also.
