Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton is reportedly on the radar of West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to speculation on the future of Alan Hutton.
Hutton has been on the books of Villa since 2011 and has a contract with the Villans until the summer of 2018, according to transfermarkt.com.
The Mirror recently quoted manager Steve Bruce as saying that he wants a new contract for the former Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur right-back.
Villa chairman Xia has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the speculation on the future of Hutton.
Any chance for West Bromwich Albion?
West Bromwich Albion, who have been relegated from the Premier League and will play in the Championship next season, have been linked with a move for Hutton in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 61, April 15, 2018), West Brom are interested in securing the services of the Scottish defender (click here to read more), who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star.
However, Xia’s tweet suggests that Villa have yet to make a decision on the future of Hutton.
If Villa do get promoted to the Premier League, then perhaps the Villans will hand the 33-year-old a new contract.
Maybe West Brom’s chances of signing Hutton depends on what happens in the Championship playoff final between Villa and Fulham this month.
