Wolverhampton Wanderers appear to be short of strikers as things stand.

According to a report in the Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing to offload Jon Dadi Bodvarsson to Reading, and that surely suggests that they have a striker signing lined up.

Bodvarsson is set to move to the Madejski Stadium in the near future, after failing to hold down a first-team place at Molineux.

While the loss of the Icelandic international is unlikely to be seen as a major blow for Nuno’s side, he does leave Wolves short of options up-front.

If Bodvarson departs, Wolves will only have Nouha Dicko, Joe Mason and Bright Enobakhare available to them up-front.

And that surely means that a new striker will be on their list of priorities to sign.

Wolves have been linked with a range of targets this summer, but Southampton’s Sam Gallagher’s is the most recent name who is on their wishlist, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, July 9, 2017).

And if Wolves are prepared to offload Bodvarson, it may just be a hint that they are confident of getting a deal for Gallagher over the line.
