Similar returns in front of goal might be borne out of their similarities in style; both hard-working, willing and able to run the channels and provide an eager outlet when their teammates are on the back foot, but ultimately lacking the potency in front of goal to lead a Premier League attack.
While Abraham certainly has time on his side, Newcastle may be best served pursuing an option capable of delivering a more immediate impact.
