Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is said to be interested in signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton.

Steve Bruce has suggested to the Birmingham Mail that Aston Villa are intending to be active in the loan market, which could add credence to links with Yannick Bolasie.

The Daily Star suggest that Villa want to take Bolasie off Everton’s hands, as he could be made available.

Bolasie appears to have very little chance of breaking into Everton’s first team this season.

And although the links with the wide-man initially seemed highly ambitious for Villa, Bruce’s recent transfer admission now makes for interesting reading.

He said: “We’ll be busy, that’s for sure.”

If Villa could land Bolasie there is no doubting that the winger would add a new dimension to their attack.

The signing would not even have been contemplated weeks ago, but Villa’s new owners are backing them with significant funds.

Bolasie’s pace and trickery would make him a fearsome opponent in the Championship.

Villa have started the season well, winning their first two games, with optimism flooding back into Villa Park.
