Manchester United are currently one place and two points ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is adored by the Anfield faithful, and he has done a wonderful job since taking over the club back in October 2015.
It is only because of Manchester City’s freakish brilliance that the Reds are not challenging for the Premier League title this season, but with Klopp’s men nailed on to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, all is not lost.
The Merseyside outfit will, of course, want to finish as high as they can in the Premier League, and beating their bitter rivals Manchester United into second place will surely be one of their main objectives this term.

Liverpool currently sit in third position in the table, two points adrift of the Red Devils, but what are their chances of actually finishing in the runners up spot?
The answer to that question is better than you might think…
Liverpool have the second easiest run-in out of all the teams in the top flight. In their remaining 10 games, the average league positions of the Reds’ opponents is 12, as opposed to United’s 11, according to Sky Sports.
Klopp’s men have just two games remaining against teams currently inside the top six – United at Old Trafford and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho’s men, meanwhile, have three games against current top six sides – Liverpool at home, Manchester City away and Arsenal at home.
The game between the two north-west rivals at Old Trafford in eight days time will surely have a huge bearing on who finishes in second place, and if Liverpool manage to avoid defeat there, they could very well be favourites for the runners up spot in the table.
