Sheffield Wednesday have allowed the midfielder to join Cardiff City on trial, according to reports.
It is claimed that Owls midfielder Lewis McGugan will spend two weeks at Cardiff City – who are managed of course by old foe Neil Warnock.

McGugan has featured irregularly under Carlos Carvalhal at Hillsborough and hasn’t appeared for the first team since May 2016.
He was transfer listed by Wednesday last summer and remains so after entering the final 12 months of what is assumed to be a fairly generous contract.
In some ways Cardiff would be doing Wednesday a favour by taking McGugan on a longer-term basis – but could the Owls stand to gain from their recent co-operation?
The Yorkshire side failed with a £3 million for Cardiff captain Sean Morrison at the start of last month, with Warnock later telling Wales Online that such a fee ‘wouldn’t even buy one of the centre-back’s legs’.

But after Morrison’s defensive partner, Bruno Ecuele-Manga, renewed his contract at the 11th hour last month, Wednesday perhaps have more chance than was previously thought of prising away the 26-year-old, who has less than 12 months to run on his deal anyway – despite Wales Online’s claim that the Bluebirds want closer to £6 million.
And being accommodating with McGugan certainly won’t harm the Owls’ prospects.
