Pablo Zabaleta may well have moved back ahead of Ryan Fredericks in the pecking order at West Ham United.
The right-back appeared to lose his place at the start of the season, when Fredericks was brought in on a free transfer.
However, Fredericks has struggled in his first few appearances for West Ham, and Zabaleta’s showing against Everton may be bad news for the new signing.
Zabaleta was given the nod to start by Manuel Pellegrini, and he showed his defensive qualities, as the Hammers picked up their first points of the campaign.

The Argentine was solid throughout, and helped West Ham picked up an impressive 3-1 victory at Goodison Park.
Zabaleta will now surely stay a part of Pellegrini’s backline for their upcoming games.
Although the former Manchester City man may not offer as much going forward as Fredericks, he does look the more solid defensive options.
And with West Ham picking up a win for the first time, it could be that Fredericks now faces a spell on the sidelines, as he may just have been demoted to second choice.
