Rangers are reportedly interested in singing playmaker Lassana Coulibaly from French side Angers SCO, with a deal said to be close and that could mean that another in-demand star leaves Ibrox.
STV claim the Gers have agreed a season-long loan move for the 22-year-old star, who made 20 appearances in France’s top tier last season for Angers – scoring one goal and laying on three assists.
Able to play in deep midfield, Coulibaly is more renowned for his ability to join the attack from midfield and play as a box-to-box middle man or indeed in the number 10 role.
The imminent signing of the Mali international, then, could signal that Rangers are expecting to sell 24-year-old Josh Windass, with newly-promoted Premier League side Cardiff City reportedly keen.

The Daily Mail reported that Rangers are expecting to lose Windass, who is the son of former Hull City icon Dean. The Express (print edition, page 55, June 28, 2018) claimed that Cardiff are ready to activate the £3million clause in his contract.

After starring in France’s top tier in a side that narrowly avoided relegation by four points, Coulibaly will be expecting to be a first-team regular if he joined Steven Gerrard’s side.
That would suggest, then, that Rangers are ready to sell Windass once they sign Coulibaly in a move that could provide Gerrard with more funds to go out and spend elsewhere on his squad.
